Nurse Practitioner also Joins the Cancer Center
SEQUIM – As Olympic Medical Cancer Center prepares to say goodbye to beloved medical oncologist Tom Kummet, MD, who is retiring this summer, it welcomes a new physician to the cancer fighting team: Medical Oncologist Rachna Anand, DO. Oncology Nurse Practitioner Tamara Montgomery, MSN, NPC-C, OCN also joins the medical oncology team in June.
"Dr. Kummet will be deeply missed by the team here at the cancer center, but also throughout the community,” says Ken Berkes, director of Olympic Medical Cancer Center. Dr. Anand is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. She graduated from the Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia before obtaining her doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania, and her hematology / oncology fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Anand most recently comes to the community from Advantage Care Physicians located in Staten Island, New York. She has also worked for Consultants in Medical Oncology & Hematology in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia. While obtaining her doctorate, she worked as a Pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy in North Wales, Pennsylvania.
