Multi-procedure Technicians Expand Coverage
PORT ANGELES – Olympic Medical Center’s board of commissioners and Chief Medical Officer Scott Kennedy, MD, recognized eight employees for excellence at the September 2 board of commissioners meeting in the hospital’s Linkletter Hall.
Dr. Kennedy recognized six multi-procedural technologists from diagnostic imaging, including: Rob Elofson, Sandy Caudill, Jamie Wright, Holly Diimmel, Amanda Lavin and Debbie Spicer.
"The technologists being recognized are providing very efficient flexibility in serving our patients,” says Dr. Kennedy. Our multi-procedure technologists have two certifications: X-ray and one additional modality such as CT, bone density or mammography. They are doing an excellent job of filling staffing needs and helping the department maintain 24/7 coverage” says Dr. Kennedy.
Additionally, two Olympic Medical laboratory technicians received special recognition for their efforts in supporting ongoing technology upgrades occurring in the lab.
"During the transition to Epic, our new patient record system, Sandy Watne took on the role of ‘super-user’ and worked tirelessly to take an extremely complex workflow process and teach it to our staff,” stated Dr. Kennedy. "Sandy is also a role model of excellent customer service, and helps our patients through an important registration process. She consistently demonstrates genuine concern for our patients’ satisfaction.”
Multi-faceted lab technologist Dalyn Titterness has taken on additional duties for ensuring Lab Information System functionality. Titterness handles the complexities and necessary updates associated with the lab information systems with a positive attitude, excellent customer service and caring concern when working with staff and physicians.
