JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Purchasing is responsible for directing, coordinating, overseeing, and leading the operation of the Purchasing Department, and the distribution of mail. This position is responsible for all matters relating to purchasing, including the development of goals/objectives, policies, and procedures; compliance with laws/standards/regulations, quality management, education, Materials Management Information Services, group purchasing activities, contractual negotiations and obligations, related inventory management, product distribution, product evaluation, surplus management, and human resource management. The Manager, Purchasing ensures goods and services are ordered and received in the correct amount, on time, and at the correct price.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience in purchasing/management/accounting may be considered in lieu of degree.

 EXPERIENCE

 

·        Five years of progressive contemporary Materials Management experience preferred

·        Proven management experience in hospital/health care environment preferred

·        Participation a in professional purchasing organization such as Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) and/or National Association for Purchasing Managers (NAPM) preferred

·        Experience in Lawson MMIS, Lawson Add-Ins preferred

 

LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS

·        Affiliation/accreditation with AHRMM and/or ISM or another professional purchasing organization preferred

·        Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred
