Assumes primary responsibility and accountability for the preparation, processing and storage of sterile instrumentation, and equipment utilized in clinical services. Secondarily, may be called on to fulfill distribution duties as requested.




High school diploma/equivalent.



Prior proven experience and expertise in decontamination, processing and sterilization techniques and best practices preferred. One year of experience in the field of Central Services and/or sterile processing strongly preferred.



Certification in the field of sterile processing required. Preferred Certification (CRCST) must be obtained from the International Association of Healthcare Central Services and Materials Management (IAHCSMM); such designation will influence job assignments. Certified Technicians are approved to independently process instrumentation and trays.
