Supervises Nutritional Counseling staff, and provides medical nutrition therapy, counseling and education services in the areas of nutrition and diabetes for the purpose of disease management and improved health.  Responsible for coordinating and conducting OMC’s outpatient diabetes education program and meeting all program requirements. Conducts diabetes education classes, serves as advisor to the support group, counsels outpatient clients, and works closely with other members of the diabetes team in program development, physician and community outreach.


Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential (and associated educational degree). Documented continuing education in the fields of diabetes and nutrition education including CNSC (Certified Nutrition Support Clinician) credential preferred.


Minimum of three years' clinical dietetics experience and two years' experience teaching in a recognized diabetes education program; experience applying adult learning theories and motivational strategies strongly preferred.   Comparable experience and training may be considered.


·        Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license

·        Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification

·        BLS certification

·        Valid Washington driver’s license.

·        Proof of insurance on automobile used for work.

·        Driving record in compliance with OMC standards currently in effect or as may be amended.  See HR Policy 3.12 Driving on Behalf of OMC Business.
